For those that have vast amounts of money and very little sense, there is the Paris-Dakar rally. Teams like ourselves who have no money and arguably even less sense, choose the Plymouth-Banjul Challenge.
The Challenge is to simply drive a cheap banger from Plymouth to Banjul following the route of the famous Paris-Dakar Rally on a limited budget, with the principle aim of helping some Charitable causes in The Gambia and Senegal.
Since the success of the inaugural event at the start of 2003, interest in The Challenge has been growing continuously, such that in the 2007 Event, there are four groups of 50 vehicles taking part.
